Reset the count of entries for an alphabetically ordered catalog.
The values contained in the field name used for ordering are listed.
Each alphanumerical character (A thru Z, 0 thru 9) that appear in first
position is counted. The result is stored in a table for use by the
Browse alphabetical catalog root action.
This operation is not needed in normal operation since it will be
automatically calculated every 24 hours. It may be called for immediate
update, after a large update operation, for instance.
